my love/hate relationship with laziness

Posted by froggy

Fuck, it just feels so good to sit here right now and watch the news. But, it would be even better if I were watching my Beverly Hills 90210 downloads. Problem is, I killed my power supply. I plan on going to my local shop to pick up a new one after work every day, but once I'm off work and see the bus, I rush off as quick as possible and head straight home, where I am sure to end up on the couch shortly after my arrival. So here I am, couching and whining about how I am on the couch. What makes this worse is that I'm getting hungry! Now I must make decisions, and it involves going to the kitchen and cooking. What to cook? Do I have everything I need? Can I use an alternative so I don't need to leave the house (and better yet, the couch) to get groceries? Do I really feel like cooking THAT?

On and on it goes, yet here I am, on the couch, with the glow of the CBC still beaming towards me.

Awful

I don't make a point of watching the news, it depresses me so horribly and it is also never on TV when I am around anyways. Of course today being labour day, I was privy to daytime television which entails the news. I have to say, our world is really fucked up! I mean, I was always fully aware of that fact but it is never so reinforced until you see human beings reporting on the wrongdoings of other human beings, be that half way around the world or down the street (and I mean that latter part literally! There was a drive-by a few days ago a few blocks from my house, and I live in a nice neighbourhood!). It seriously evoked moistness in my ocular sockets after I finally decided I had had enough and turned the channel. So fucked up.

One thing that really upset me was a report on this older lady in the Okanagan with a kidney stone that was too big to pass and required a medical procedure to break it down so that she could pass it. She has been in pain for weeks and has been back and forth from the ER in Kelowna to temporarily treat the pain and they are telling her it will be months before she will get the procedure done. What the fuck is wrong with this province?! It has so horribly neglected the human element of its governance, putting shit like the Olympics and raising taxes on gasoline before the medical priorities and social ills of its' resident populace. And what's worse is that whether it is the Campbell government or anyone else, nothing will change because they all hit 10 of 10 on the crooked scale, and that can be no clearer than when they voted themselves their more recent 54% payraise (instead of taking it upon themselves to rectify the grossly overdue minimum wage raise to better accommodate the astronomically overpriced cost of living in this shitpile of a city). I guess they will never know what it is like to live with an unpass-able kidney stone, I can't imagine that people that make as much as BC politicians would ever need to fall back on the public medical system. Fucked up. Moistness...

My life right now.

Currently the most pressing thing on my mind is that my right 2nd ear piercing is infected and I can't get an earring in there so will probably have to let it heal.

Secondly, it is cold.

And finally, "Parental Control" is the only good thing about MTV.

THANKS! And god speed.
